Popular Mechanics (approximate circulation 1.2 million) – "Debunking 9/11 LIES: Conspiracy Theories Can’t Stand Up to the Hard Facts" – with Editor-in Chief James B. Meigs and Benjamin Chertoff (cousin of the newly appointed head of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff). (See Our Rebuttal pp. 14 to 42.)March 5, 2005 –
Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell – featured an interview with Ben Chertoff which mocked all so-called 9/11 conspiracy ‘wing nuts’ and which sparked a wide debate especially on internet sites like Rense.com.June 2005 –
Scientific American – "Fahrenheit 2777: 9/11 has generated the mother of all conspiracy theories" by Michael Shermer, publisher of Skeptic magazine – leaned heavily on the Popular Mechanics analysis and the melting point of steel.
