The Official 9/11 Commission Report was released with great fanfare on July 22, 2004, twenty months after it was convened. Not surprisingly, it supported the ‘official story’, allowing Bush and company to exploit it ruthlessly to justify their holy ‘War on Terror’. None of the torrent of wanton destruction – the US military take down of Afghanistan, the pre-emptive invasion of Iraq, nor the quiet suppression of our civil liberties at home – would have been possible without the ‘official story’ on 9/11 providing the pretext for war.
Yet the 9/11 Commission was anything but ‘independent’. Its members were hand-picked by the White House and riddled with conflicts of interest. It took 441 days to convene. They couldn’t even get Bush or Cheney to testify in public and they all but ignored the myriad questions from 9/11 family members and other concerned citizens. The megaphone mainstream media indoctrinated acceptance of the ‘official story’ as the gospel truth and the majority of Americans still seem to believe it.
But what if Bush and company were lying? After all, they lied big time about: WMDs in Iraq, the US military’s use of DU (depleted uranium) in both Gulf Wars, Bush’s dubious AWOL war record, promises to take good care of the VETS at home, and giving TAX CUTS to the rich, not the middle class or poor, etc. Why, then, would they not lie about 9/11 when they had so much to gain from it? For example: the surge in support for a ‘war-time’ President; beefed up budgets for the CIA, FBI, the military and Iraqi reconstruction; and putting a damper on worldwide anti-globalization protests.
What if certain members of the US government are lying about the ‘official story’? That would mean Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al would have deliberately sacrificed the lives of 3,000 persons on 9/11, and the lives of more than a thousand American soldiers in Iraq. Plus, they would be responsible for the mass murder of thousands in the Middle East. Indeed, if the official 9/11 lie were to be exposed, this appalling implication would be so disturbing that many would find it unthinkable.
But all we have to do is look at the facts. We know that presidents lie: Bill Clinton (Monica Lewinsky), Ronald Reagan (Iran-Contra), Richard Nixon (Watergate). We know past US governments were willing to sacrifice American lives as pretexts for war: Franklin Roosevelt (Pearl Harbor); the Joint Chiefs of Staff (Operation Northwoods). We know would-be emperors have schemed to rule the world: Julius Caesar (48-44 BC), Napoleon (1804-1815), Hitler (1934-1945), and now, the Project for a New American Century has opened the door for another such ruler. We can’t be so naïve as to think that ambitious men wouldn’t conceive of such nefarious plans.
It is vital to realize that the radical Bush agenda – past, present and future – depends entirely on their version of what happened on 9/11. Should we not be a little suspicious? The President, the White House, the Pentagon and the 9/11 Commission won’t answer even a quarter of the questions put forth by victims’ family members and skeptical citizens. So shouldn’t we find out what they are NOT telling us?
Apparently millions protesting the war won’t stop Bush’s empire-building crusade. But if peace activists worked together to expose the truth about 9/11, then Bush’s warmongering would have to stop immediately. Surely the sickening orgy of bloodshed in Iraq must now convince holdout ‘9/11 undecided’ to get off the fence. If not, when the ‘war of terror’ spreads to Syria, Iran and further, then they will have no one to blame but themselves.
Fortunately, over the past year (2004), hundreds of grassroots activists from around the world were busy conducting their own investigations into 9/11 across North America. Six separate, truly independent citizen investigations found so much compelling evidence to invalidate the ‘official story’ that their conclusion is unanimous: The Official 9/11 Commission Report must be completely REJECTED.
As you’ll see in this issue of Global Outlook, the 9/11 Commission Report is a whitewash, fully deserving complete citizen rejection. Like the Warren Report on JFK’s assassination before it, the 9/11 Report is so full of inconsistencies and anomalies, that one can only conclude that certain members of the US government must be lying to us about 9/11, including President George W. Bush himself.
The following then, is some of the most compelling evidence to prove to you, the reader, that the ‘official story’ behind 9/11 is a complete hoax, a huge cover-up and a gigantic lie. But you be the judge ... and jury.
